Sean came to us with one job and a problem. He wanted a Rough Country 12,000-pound winch on his Silverado, mounted behind the factory bumper so the truck kept its stock look. Every other shop he asked wanted to sell him an off-road bumper instead. We took the job with the hidden winch mount he wanted.
Once the truck was here, the list grew. It already wore a Rough Country 6-inch lift, so we swapped the shocks and struts for Rough Country’s Vertex 2.5 adjustable units, and the ride difference was the kind you notice pulling out of the driveway. From there we moved to lighting: new LED headlight housings with daytime running lights up front, and a row of pods on his roof basket. Once he saw photos of the new headlights he decided the factory grille had to go too, so we swapped in an all-black grille with Raptor-style marker lights. All of it runs on a wiring harness we built for this truck and switched from an Auxbeam panel in the cab.
The work
12,000-pound winch, factory look
A Rough Country 12,000-pound winch on a hidden winch mount behind the factory bumper. It keeps the truck looking stock from the front, with the fairlead tucked in low, and it saved Sean the cost and weight of a replacement bumper he didn’t want.
Vertex 2.5 adjustable shocks and struts
The 6-inch lift was already under the truck, so the win here was damping. Rough Country’s Vertex 2.5 shocks and struts are adjustable, so we could set them for how Sean actually drives. It transformed how the truck rides on washboard and pavement alike.
LED headlights with daytime running lights
Complete LED headlight housings replaced the factory units, with running lights built in. New housings keep the beam pattern where it belongs instead of scattering light, and they were aimed before the truck left.
All-black grille with Raptor-style lights
We send photos as a job moves along, and when Sean saw the new headlights he decided the factory grille no longer matched. He had us swap it for an all-black grille with Raptor-style amber marker lights, which tied the whole front end together.
Roof pods on a custom bar
Sean wanted pods on the basket he already had, evenly spaced and level. We made a bar that mounts to the basket and holds them in line, so the setup looks intentional instead of bolted on wherever there was room.
A harness built for this truck
This is where the hours went. Off-the-shelf harnesses come in fixed lengths with the relay and fuse in whatever spot the manufacturer chose, so stacking one per light means a pile of extra wire, several separate fuse holders and connectors sitting wherever they land. We measured this truck and built a single harness to fit it instead.
Where every wire goes
Power comes off the battery through one fused, relayed feed. From there the runs follow factory looms and existing grommets, through the firewall to the switch panel and up the pillar to the roof, loomed where they cross the basket. The roof section unplugs at a weatherproof connector, so the bar and basket can come off without cutting a wire.

Every light lands on a labeled Auxbeam panel mounted where Sean can reach it, so the pods, the headlights’ accessory circuit and anything he adds later each have their own switch and fuse.

I had some Rubicon takeoff springs installed on my Wrangler JL Sport 2 door. It was awesome to watch Zach work. He took time to torque everything properly and still completed the job in a very timely fashion. It was a great experience!
