From downtown Greeley, the shop is about eighteen miles west. A common route is US-34 west out of town toward Loveland, then Weld County Road 17 and Crossroads Boulevard to 7352 Greenridge Road, just east of I-25. Plan on 30 to 40 minutes depending on traffic and road work.

The Pawnee, done right
Greeley is the closest city we serve to the Pawnee National Grassland, about 25 miles to the northeast. It is a great place for gravel-road touring, the hike out to the Pawnee Buttes, and birding — more than 200 species have been recorded there. It is not an off-road park, though. Licensed vehicles have to stay on roads shown on the Forest Service Motor Vehicle Use Map, public land is checkerboarded with private ranches, and the only spot where unlicensed off-highway vehicles are allowed is the small Main Draw OHV Area, usually open November through early April.
For rock and trail driving, Greeley wheelers head west. The shop is a natural stop on the way out.

Can I drive my truck anywhere on the Pawnee National Grassland?
No. Licensed vehicles must stay on the roads shown on the Forest Service Motor Vehicle Use Map, and off-road or cross-country driving is not allowed. Unlicensed OHVs are limited to the Main Draw OHV Area during its season. Watch for private land, too — the grassland is mixed with private ranches.
How worn can my tires get before they are illegal?
Under Colorado law (C.R.S. 42-4-228), a tire is unsafe once the tread is below 2/32 of an inch, or if it has bulges, exposed cords, or wear bars touching the road. On gravel and wet county roads you will want a lot more tread than that — and when Colorado’s winter traction law is in effect on mountain highways, tires need at least 3/16 of an inch.
