Our bays sit inside Windsor town limits, so a lift does not have to happen all in one expensive weekend. Start with suspension, come back for tires when the budget or the plan is ready.
A short drive makes a phased build realistic
When the shop doing your suspension is an hour away, every return visit costs a day, so people tend to cram the whole build into one appointment. From Windsor Town Hall we are roughly six miles out, or 10 to 15 minutes each way. That changes the math. You can put the lift, shocks and geometry correction on now, drive it for a season, and decide on wheel and tire size once you know how the truck actually feels.
Splitting the work spreads out the cost and lets stage one prove itself before you commit to bigger rubber. We spec the first stage with the second one in mind, so the kit you buy today will clear the tire you are aiming for later.
Stage one: suspension
Lift components, matched shocks, and control arms or track bar corrections where your platform needs them.
Alignment right after
Once the new height settles in, the truck gets aligned before pickup for straight tracking on Highway 392 and I-25.
Stage two: wheels and tires
When you are ready, we source the wheel and tire package, have it mounted and balanced, then check for rub at full lock before handing back the keys.
What the extra height is really for
From the middle of Windsor, Masonville is around 25 miles and about 43 minutes away. That is where Buckhorn Road starts its climb over Pennock Pass, and just west of Stove Prairie Road sits the Moody Hill trailhead, a rocky, steep Forest Service road that rewards clearance and good tires. Go the other direction and Drake, at the top of the rebuilt Big Thompson Canyon highway, is roughly 30 miles or 52 minutes from town, with the Glen Haven area beyond.
None of those routes demands a monster lift. A modest, well-built kit with quality shocks usually does more for a Windsor rig heading to Buckhorn than raw inches do. Keep the seasons in mind too: Buckhorn is not plowed, and Moody Hill is closed from December 1 into mid-June, so getting the work done in early spring gives you a few weeks of pavement miles before the gates open.

Can I lift the truck now and buy bigger tires later?
Yes, and it is often the smarter order. We pick the lift height and components for the tire you eventually want, so stage two is a wheel and tire swap rather than a redo. Your stock tires will look a little small in the meantime, and that is fine.
How do I know the truck will clear my garage door?
That depends on your door, not your neighborhood, and newer homes vary quite a bit. Measure the opening at its lowest point, including the track or opener hardware, and bring the number when you call or text. We will compare it with the expected height after the lift, tires and any roof accessories.
Does a lift affect insurance or resale value?
It can. Some insurers want to know about aftermarket modifications, so it is worth a call to your agent before the install. On resale, a quality kit with records tends to be easier to explain than a mystery build. Keep your receipts and any original parts you want to hold onto.
